Written and performed by Bruce Horak
Directed by Ryan Gladstone
A Monster Theatre production
For one night only on October 22 at 7pm!
Visually-impaired actor, theatre creator and visual artist Bruce Horak lives with 9% vision due to a rare cancer he survived as a baby. In Assassinating Thomson, Horak masterfully weaves his fascinating and heart-warming personal story with the legend of Tom Thomson, an inspiration to many Canadian artists, whose mysterious death in 1917 preceded the rise of the Group of Seven. His influence and spirit thread their way through this completely unconventional theatrical experience.
As Horak reveals his controversial perspective on Canadian Art History, he shares the unique way he sees the world by painting an original portrait of each audience LIVE!
While at the university, Horak will also be speaking in the Art NOW lecture series on Wednesday, October 15, visiting various classes, and giving a public talk about his career development in the Drama Studio on Friday, October 17 at 3pm.
Tickets are available online at uleth.ca/tickets, by phone 403-329-2616 or at the box office Monday-Friday 12:30-3:30 and 1 hour before ticketed performances. $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
