A Very Brief Introduction to Art History for Understanding Contemporary Art

This talk will give some a very brief introduction to historical art as some background context for understanding contemporary art.

Anne Dymond is Associate Professor of Art History and Museum Studies at the University of Lethbridge.  She received her Ph.D. from Queen’s University.  Her original body of work looked at the how museums contribute to cultural identity and has been published in the Art Bulletin, RACAR, and the RIHA Journal.  Current research projects examine representation and diversity in Canadian exhibitions of contemporary art, as well as the use of video games in teaching art history.
