Did you know Teams can be a practical replacement for your internal phone with video and other features as options? Microsoft Teams is a cloud-based digital workspace that combines workplace chat, video meetings, file storage, and app integration into a single hub.
If you are phoning a colleague within the University, you can use Teams instead a traditional phone call. While there is a strictly voice option within Teams that replaces the internal telephony experience, you can optionally use video to capture facial expressions. Further options that can provide value are the ability to share your desktop screen on both PC and Mac. There are chat options that use plain text as well as rich text including photo and attachments. Sometimes a photo is worth a thousand words. Teams also has the advantage over your traditional phone in that it is easy to create an ad-hoc call with multiple participants with all or none of the features above! Teams lets you move easily and seamlessly from chat to voice, video, screen sharing, and group discussion without switching tools.
