Speedbumps were removed on Valley Road during construction of the new Science and Academic Building in order to facilitate trucks and heavy machinery moving smoothly to and from the building site. The speedbumps were reinstalled after the building was opened but a large number of University Community members have been asking Facilities to consider removing the speedbumps permanently.
To that end, the University has set up a committee to look into the matter -- The What to do About the Speedbumps Committee (WASC) -- and it is soliciting input from members of the University Community. Please send your comments to Wim Chalmet, WASC Chair. Wim's email is: wim.chalmet@uleth.ca After collecting the responses, Mr. Chalmet's office will arrange for Virtual Open House to present the Committee's recommendations on the matter. Submission deadline is April Fool's Day.
