The Grounds Department has recieved many comments and even some offers of assistance to rescue the plants in the Atrium that are obviously neglected. In December safety issues were identified with the work in those areas. An engineering firm was engaged to look at the areas, assess the risks and suggest remedial actions. Immediatly work in the areas was suspended until the issues could be resolved and the heavy works of art were removed. There is no imminent danger to the public as the remaining safety issues relate only to workers accessing and working in those areas. When we can do so safely, the Grounds Department will remove the old plants and plan for new displays in that area. We are greatful that our efforts are noticed and in this case impressed with the level of concern shown for the appearance of our shared campus. Questions can be directed to 403-329-2608. Phil Dyck.
