NEW Indigenous Undergraduate Award - Deadline to apply is Sept. 19

 The University of Calgary (UCalgary) One Child Every Child research initative is providing 20 undergraduate awards for the 2025–2026 academic year to support Indigenous students' health, wellbeing, and academic success all across Alberta. Rooted in the belief that education is a social determinant of health, this initiative supports Indigenous learners through financial aid, mentorship, and culturally grounded community involvement. 

  • Application closes Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, 4 p.m.

Selection Criteria 

  • Entering and Continuing Indigenous undergraduate students from any discipline 
  • Enrolled full-time at one of the four OCEC partner institutions: University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge, Athabasca University. (If you are unsure of your fulltime enrollment status, please confirm with your home institution’s Registrar Office)
  • Interest in child health and wellbeing 
  • Provide personal statements (written or video) answering the following questions: 
    • Where do I come from? 
    • Who am I? 
    • Who am I responsible to/why am I here? 
    • What is my purpose/where am I going? 
    • What are my interests in child health and wellbeing? 
  • All applications will be reviewed, and those meeting the eligibility criteria will be placed into a pool from which awardees will be randomly selected
