What is this IT Services Notice about?
In order to continue high levels of service to the Internet, Information Technology will be upgrading a network service over the Christmas break. A very brief Internet outage will be necessary to complete the work.
When will this happen?
The network outage will take place on Monday, December 29th 2014, at 9:00AM and will last approximately 10 minutes.
How does this affect me?
This upgrade requires a reconfiguration of the existing network link and during the upgrade the link will be out of service. As this network link in question carries all external internet traffic to/from the University network, these network will be unavailable. During the upgrade, all internet traffic will be affected. Any internal traffic will not be affected by this brief outage.
Why is this happening?
This network service is being upgrade to continue and enhance the connectivity to off campus resources, including the Internet
