Network Service Outages over the Christmas Holiday

What is this notice about?

IT Services will be performing required upgrades and maintenance to the U of L network core in our primary network rooms during the Christmas break. It is being scheduled at this time to minimize impact to the user community.

How does it affect me?

These upgrades and maintenance to the core U of L network will take place as follows:

  • Tuesday December 29th from 8:00AM to 12:00PM – complete outage that affects the entire campus for the duration of the maintenance.
  • Wednesday December 30th from 8:00AM to 4:00PM – intermittent outages that will affect the top of the campus (Student Union Building, 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport & Wellness, Markin Hall, Anderson Hall, Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience Building, Alberta Water and Environmental Sciences Building, Hepler Hall, Turcotte Hall, Parkway Service Complex, and all residences outside of University Hall) throughout the maintenance windows
  • Thursday December 31st from 8:00AM to 9:00AM – internet outage to/from the U of L campus. All internal services will remain operational.

 

During these maintenance outages, all network services will be unavailable including internet and VPN access, campus telephones, and access to all central services including University websites.

 

External visitors to the uleth.ca website during the affected times will be redirected to a page which will inform them the entire site is down for maintenance and to return once the work is complete.
