Monthly Fire Alarm Speaker and VoIP Test

Please be advised the following monthly Fire Alarm Speaker Tests will be conducted on Friday March 18, 2016 at the following times:

LOCATION

ESTIMATED TIME

Alberta Water and Environmental Sciences Building (AWESB)

0950-1000 hrs

Mount Blakiston House

1010-1020 hrs

Student’s Union Building (SU)

1050-1100 hrs

Markin Hall (MH)

1250-1300 hrs

Additionally, the following monthly Fire Alarm Speaker Tests will be conducted on Tuesday March 15, 2016 at the following times:

University Centre for the Arts (UCA)

1330-1340 hrs

Library Information Network Centre (LINC)

1455-1505 hrs

As with previous tests, CIRT team members are requested to check their areas during the test to ensure that the system is functioning (ie. Security Representative’s voice can be heard clearly; that the general alarm is audible and distinct; the fire strobe lights within respective areas are flashing; and hallway doors close if applicable).

1335 hrs

VoIP Phone Tests are conducted to ensure that the Emergency Notification System is functioning. A pre-recorded voice will be heard after a short beep delivering the following message:

“Attention! Attention! This is a test. I repeat, this is a test of the emergency communication system on campus, DO NOT TAKE ANY ACTION. This is only a test to familiarize the university community with the emergency notification system, thank you for your cooperation.”

Additionally, a final message will be heard as follows: “The test is now completed, thank you for your cooperation.”
