Due to the pandemic, the 2020 International Collegiate Programming Contest was postponed. The ICPC Rocky Mountain Regional Contest took place virtually on March 6, 2021. The  Rocky Mountain region includes Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Eastern Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and New Mexico.

There were 33 teams participating this time, including three teams from the University of Lethbridge.

The winning team was the top University of Alberta team solving all 11 problems. Second place goes to Brigham Young University with 10 problems solved, and third place goes to University of Northern Texas with 9 problems solved. Our top team along with a few other schools solved 8 problems but our team solved those 8 problems quicker, taking fourth place.

This year the contest organization is quite different because of the pandemic. Our top team will now advance to the next stage which is another online contest for the top teams from Western Canada and US, tentatively scheduled on April 22.  The top teams from that contest will then advance to the North American finals tentatively scheduled in August in Atlanta.

Congratulations to all three teams from the University of Lethbridge and all competitors from across the Rocky Mountain region.
