Improvements to password change process

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Everyone hates changing their password.  Not only is it another thing to remember, but you are constantly getting locked out of your email until you change the password on all your internet connected devices.  IT Services found a solution for you..

As of May 4, 2017, when a user changes their password, their previous password will not lock them out of University systems like it used to.  The environment now recognizes the old password, and knows that since it was recently changed, it shouldn't view it as an attack on the account and lock it.  We encourage all university users change their password on a regular basis (generally annually), and to ensure that they do not share it with anyone else.
