Iikaisskini Gathering Space construction and asbestos removal

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Between May 3 and August 31, 2021, contractors will be working in E610/E620 and W650 doing renovations for the Iikaisskini Gathering Space project. Access to these spaces will be restricted and the construction could cause some noise disruptions to adjacent areas.

From Monday, May 3 to Thursday, June 3 asbestos removals will be conducted in W650 in the University Centre for the Arts. The work is within vacated areas only and will not be a disruption to normal operations.

Removal will be completed consistent with the requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Code, and performed by trained and certified workers pursuant to the required code of practice to ensure there is no health risk to the public or workers. Air clearance samples will be taken by an independent environmental technologist and the reports will be posted on Campus Safety’s website.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation during this time. Contact Greg Lacey or Darlene Konynenbelt for any further questions or to address any specific concerns.

Thank you.
