Hurricane Melissa donation drive — Jamaica

Following Hurricane Melissa, many parts of Jamaica especially the Western Parishes & Communities are devastated. With homes that once stood tall, are now completely flattened. Families have lost their livelihoods, belongings and many other basic needs.

This relief effort is one that is personal as members, partners and friends of the Network of Black Women are personally affected, with their homes, communities and belongings partially or completely destroyed and families affected.

We are gathering donations that will be brought and distributed by NBW Board Directors, who will personally travel to Jamaica and deliver your donations to families and communities in need.

Items needed include the following:

  • Hygiene products
  • Clothing (babies to adults)
  • Blankets and sleeping bags
  • Small tents
  • Lamps, batteries and power banks
  • School supplies
  • Tarpaulins
  • Cash donations
