Holiday closure 2020

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

The University of Lethbridge will be closed for the holiday season from Thursday, Dec. 24 to Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021. We recognize and appreciate those who are still working at some time during the holiday period.

Please note that, due to the expanded health measures put in place by the provincial government, facilities within the 1st Choice Savings Centre are closed.

The U of L’s Calgary Campus will also be closed during this time and will resume virtual operations on Jan. 4. Bow Valley College, which houses the Calgary Campus, remains closed at this time.

Due to the challenging times and increased workloads for many of our employees, the University has requested there be no scheduled meetings, no external community services and that responding to student and faculty inquiries be curtailed between Dec. 21 to 23 and Jan. 4 to 6 to allow employees to take vacation days and enjoy some down time.

We wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season and hope this break provides the opportunity for our community members to rest, relax and recharge.

The University will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.

Classes for the Spring 2021 semester will begin on Saturday, Jan. 9 from the previously scheduled start date of Wednesday, Jan. 6. This decision was made to give students some much-needed additional time with family and friends over the holiday period.
