Government of Alberta additional restrictions - COVID-19

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Earlier today, the Government of Alberta announced additional restrictions in an attempt to curb the rising rates of COVID-19 infections in the province. These restrictions will occur over a two-week period (Nov. 13-27). Some of these actions will have an effect on University of Lethbridge operations.

Details about the entirety of these restrictions, and the areas of the province in which they apply, can be found here.

We are in the process of contacting groups that may potentially be affected by these new restrictions so they can undertake appropriate action and communicate those actions to students, faculty and staff, as well as the broader community.

The University of Lethbridge community is to be commended for its efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 on our campus, including adhering to the mandatory mask requirement in common areas and practicing social distancing. Further, those who are able to work from home have been encouraged to do so.

While the university will not change its current COVID-19 protocols, we strongly encourage all meetings during this two week period to be held virtually and to ensure face-to-face contact is limited whenever possible. If you are able to perform your job function from home, we encourage you to do so.

In-person classes and labs will continue as scheduled.

I understand these further restrictions may be inconvenient for members of our campus community. It is critical we do what we are able to help flatten the COVID-19 curve.
