Are you new to the University, or have a new staff member who needs WHMIS training?
Safety and Research Services offers WHMIS training for all faculty and staff through Moodle.
Note: WHMIS training for students is delivered separately through specific courses.
What’s Covered in WHMIS?
WHMIS is Canada’s national system for safely handling hazardous materials in the workplace. The course includes:
- How to identify hazardous products
- Reading and understanding labels
- Using Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Training requirements and responsibilities
Accessing The Course
To access the WHMIS course :
- Log into Moodle, go to Dashboard and search for “WHMIS Training (Faculty and Staff)”
- Visit the Safety Services SharePoint and scroll down to find the WHMIS training - https://uleth.sharepoint.com/sites/SafetyServices/SitePages/orientation-&-training.aspx
After The Course
Once you complete the training, you’ll receive a certificate of completion - valid for 3 years.
