Copyright Changes

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

As of January 1, 2016 the University operates outside of a blanket Access Copyright license. This means digital copies that were dependent on the University's now-expired blanket license must not be re-used in Moodle courses from January 1, 2016 forward without copyright owner permission. More details are available on the Copyright website. Reasons for non-renewal of the blanket license were provided in the October 27, 2015 VP Academic Letter to the University community.

Terms of the now-expired license also require the removal of the blanket license poster displayed near U of L-operated copiers/scanners.  Arrangements have been made for the removal of this poster displayed near machines in public areas. Assistance from University staff is greatly appreciated in ensuring that posters displayed in staff areas are removed and discarded as well.  (The University's Guidelines for Copying under Fair Dealing must remain on display by all U of L-operated copiers/scanners.)

As always, feel free to contact Betsy or Rumi in the University Copyright Advisor office for copyright information or assistance.
