The University of Lethbridge expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends and former colleagues of Dr. George Mann, who passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at the age of 94.
Mann was an accomplished educator who taught at the junior high, college and university level, holding positions at Wilson Junior High School, Lethbridge Junior College (Polytechnic) and the University of Lethbridge. His 23-year career at ULethbridge included a faculty position in the Department of Sociology before administrative roles as Associate Dean of Student Services and then Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science. He retired in 1990.
An outstanding athlete as a young man, he also had an exceptional singing voice and pursued that passion by performing throughout his adult life, including with the Lethbridge Symphony Choir.

A Celebration of Mann's Life will be held at McKillop United Church, 2329 15 Ave S, Lethbridge, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Trevor Potter officiating.
The University of Lethbridge will lower its flag in honour of Mann on the day of his service.
