The University of Lethbridge expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and students of Fuki Nishibayashi, a lecturer and sessional teacher in the Department of Modern Languages, who passed away tragically recently.
Nishibayashi first came to the University of Lethbridge in September 1996 and taught Japanese as a contracted lecturer each year until her retirement in spring 2004. Since then, she continued on at the U of L as a sessional instructor, teaching one course per year.
Nishibayashi was one of three southern Albertans who went missing following a fishing trip to Mission Lake in Montana in November 2014. Her death was recently confirmed by the Glacier County Sheriff's Office.
A Celebration of Life for Fuki will be held on Saturday, Mar. 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Country Kitchen (lower level of The Keg).
