The University of Lethbridge extends its deep condolences to the family, friends and former colleagues of former ULethbridge Board of Governors member Tom McNab, who passed away July 20, 2023, at the age of 90.
McNab was a distinguished chartered accountant, and, throughout his career, exemplified the excellence, passion and professionalism that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients alike. He was a founding partner of his accounting firm, Young Parkyn McNab LLP (now Avail LLP), and his contributions to the field earned him various awards and accolades from his peers, including the prestigious designation of FCA.
A man who was dedicated to supporting his community, he served on the ULethbridge Board of Governors for seven years, concluding in 1988. McNab utilized his accounting skills while on the board, acting as Finance Chair and also serving as a member of the University's Capital Campaign.
McNab was also a member of the Y's Men's Club and Lethbridge Country Club. For more on his life and family, please visit the full obituary notice on the Martin Brothers website.
A Funeral Service to honour and remember McNab will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 11 St. S., Lethbridge, Alberta. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Lethbridge Country Club, where friends and family are invited to gather to share stories and reminisce about the wonderful moments they shared with him.
The University will lower its flag in honour of McNab on the day of his service.
