The University of Lethbridge extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Scott Shillington, who passed away on Feb. 3 at the age of 45.

Shillington, who died as a result of complications from surgery, worked as a cook at the U of L Students’ Union Zoo pub for the past three years. Cheri Pokarney, SU manager, described Shillington as a hard worker with a gentle and kind disposition.

“He was well liked by his peers and he will definitely be missed by the entire SU staff,” says Pokarney.

A memorial service has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at McKillop United Church. People are invited to donate to the McKillop Memorial Fund or to the U of L Students’ Union Food Bank. A full obituary can be found online at Martin Brothers.

The U of L flag will be lowered in Shillington’s honour from Friday evening to Monday morning.
