The University of Lethbridge extends its sincere sympathies to the family, friends, colleagues and former students of Dr. Zoltan Daroczi, who passed away on Oct. 29 at the age of 57.
A proud Hungarian-Canadian, Daroczi joined the then-Faculty of Management as an assistant professor of marketing in 2001. He completed a bachelor and master of science in agricultural economics at Budapest University of Economics. At Iowa State University, Daroczi completed another master of science and a master of business administration. He then studied at Michigan State University and completed a PhD in marketing in 2003.
Among his areas of expertise were marketing, international marketing, marketing management, consumer behaviour, statistics, business research and economics. Unfortunately, his teaching career was cut short when he suffered a stroke in 2004.
Nonetheless, Daroczi went on to become a Canadian citizen in 2017. Along with his pride in being both Hungarian and Canadian, Daroczi was especially proud of his daughter, Adrienne. A full obituary can be found on the Martin Brothers website.
A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. at Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels. In honour of Daroczi, the University will lower its flag that day.
