The University of Lethbridge extends sincere condolences to the family, friends and former colleagues of Dr. Dragoslav Jurisich, who passed away on Sunday, Sept. 4 at the age of 93.
Jurisich was a professor in the Department of Modern Languages at ULethbridge, joining the department in 1974 as an assistant professor. He became an associate professor in 1990 and retired in 1998. He taught linguistics, Spanish and Russian and pursued his love of language and history until his last days. Jurisich lived a fascinating life, which he chronicled in his autobiography titled Displaced. An obituary is available online.
A memorial service has been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at The Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church located at 907 9 Ave. N.
