Condolence Notice — Diana Lanier

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

The University of Lethbridge expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Diana Lanier, former ULethbridge senator and Board of Governors member, who passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the age of 89.

Lanier, born and raised in Turner Valley, grew up on the back of a horse, a love she'd carry all her life. It was this deeply rooted love of horses that shaped so much of her life and even brought her Ike, her husband, who won her heart by taking her to a horse show on their first date and later swept her off her feet at the Trianon Gallery dances.

Lanier also had an eye for style, beauty and a deep love of art that enriched her life. Her love of art was not only expressed in the art that filled her life but in her passionate support of local artists, her tireless connection with the SAAG and travel that took her and Ike to exhibits around the globe.

Her support for education led to her involvement with ULethbridge where she graciously served terns on the Senate and
Board of Governors.

Please see this full obituary for more information on her well lived life.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The University will ower its flag in honour of Lanier on Monday, August 29, 2022.
