Condolence Notice — Dexter Johnson

It is with heavy hearts that we at the University of Lethbridge extend our sincere condolences to Dr. Dan Johnson and his family, as well as fellow students and friends of Dan’s son, Dexter Johnson.

Dexter passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at the age of 15. He was an Open Studies student at the U of L and enrolled in a dual-credit course in biochemistry while also attending high school. By all accounts, he was an amazing musician who mastered several instruments through talent and hard work. He was also an accomplished student who excelled in all subjects, but especially science. A public viewing is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20 at Martin Brothers Riverview Chapel located at 610 4 Street South. Attendance is limited and appointments can be made by calling Martin Brothers at 403-328-2361.

A private family service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21. The service is available via livestream at https://www.mbfunerals.com/obituary/Dexter-Johnson.

In honour of Dexter, the University will lower its flag on Friday, Jan. 21.
