Consultations are actively underway with academic units across the University regarding the institutional timetabling project. The objective of those meetings is to fully understand the unique needs and pedagogical requirements in each discipline as they relate to timetabling so that the final timetable can be designed in a way that is sensitive to those requirements. This can only be accomplished with your input, which is so valuable. Childcare in relation to teaching times is one of the matters that has been raised by instructors and chairs during recent meetings. The project team, which includes associate deans and other Faculty/School colleagues, is actively working on this issue and will identify an effective way to integrate childcare responsibilities into the development of the timetable.
Your ongoing input is essential to reaching the goal of a timetable that weaves together the needs of our students, the pedagogical design of programs and courses, and the multi-faceted and complex challenge professors and instructors face when balancing teaching, research, and other important responsibilities. Thank you for continuing to share your feedback and ideas with the team.
