Apple recently released iOS 8 which is a significant upgrade for iOS devices. While iOS 8 is compatible with iPhone 4s, iPad Mini first generation, and iPad 2 devices you may want to consider not upgrading when prompted to do so by your devices. While iOS 8 will work on these devices it is likely that the user experience will suffer and the devices will performance will be slower than it currently is under iOS 7. Also, iOS 8 requires a significant amount of space to install so if you have a large amount of data on the device (photos, videos, apps, etc.) you may have trouble installing the update, and may be forced to move or delete data first.
Devices that should work with iOS 8
- iPhone 5 or newer
- iPad Mini second generation (released November 2013)
- iPad 3 or newer
