Are you an undergraduate student interested in participating in a three-day conference concerning sexuality, reproduction and social control?
The Controlling Sexuality and Reproduction: Past and Present conference takes place August 12 through 14, and it includes two world renowned keynote speakers, a performance gala, a book and community information fair, and over 70 international scholars and activists engaged in Disability Studies, Women and Gender Studies, History, Law, Critical Psychology, Native American Studies, Race Studies, and more. This is going to be an exciting and informative event.
Lethbridge Public Interest Research Group (LPIRG) has generously agreed to fund several undergraduate students to attend the conference. In return, you will be asked to perform 2-3 hours of volunteer labour (acting as runners or providing assistance at registration tables) but otherwise, you will be free to take in all aspects of the conference including meals and the gala performance. LPIRG is asking that students who are sponsored attend the full conference. More information about the conference can be had through our website at: https://www.uleth.ca/conreg/controlling-sexuality/
To apply for this great opportunity, please submit a copy of your resume, an indication of your year of study and that you will attend the full conference, and a maximum 250 word essay outlining why you would benefit from attending, and why your background makes you a great candidate.
Send your submission to newgenics@uleth.ca by Friday, June 26th.
