Condolence Notice — Dr. Colin Thomson

The University of Lethbridge extends sincere condolences to family, friends and former colleagues of Professor Emeritus Colin Thomson, who passed away on Oct. 20 at the age of 88.

Thomson joined the U of L’s Faculty of Education in August, 1971 and taught in the Faculty until 1997. He was involved in several teacher education courses, including Education 2500, the course students take to be considered for admission to the faculty. Thomson was also the author of several books with a historical bent, including Sounds Like Alberta, co-written with F. Lee Prindle, and The Romance of Alberta Settlements.

Thomson’s family is planning a celebration of life for next spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the U of L’s SOS graduate scholarship fund.

In honour of Thomson, the University will lower its flag on Friday, Oct. 30.
