COVID-19 — U of L closing residences

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

The University of Lethbridge is closing its residences. Residence students have been notified by email and phone message of the requirement to move out and the timelines associated with this decision. Details have been posted on the U of L’s Housing website.

International students, and those without safe alternative housing options, may be permitted to stay, however they must notify Housing Services immediately at housing@uleth.ca and receive permission to do so. There will be limited capacity available and the University will no longer be offering services for those in residence buildings.

Further, for those permitted to stay in residence beyond March 24, they will be required to adhere to a new policy of social distancing. There will be a zero-tolerance approach to enforcing this policy and individuals in breach will be immediately removed from campus.

These measures are meant to reduce the number of people on campus and to further reduce the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus. The U of L recognizes this is a significant and disruptive change and academic accommodations will be considered for students adversely affected. Students seeking accommodation should contact instructor if required.

Further information can be found on the U of L’s Housing website.
