Condolence Notice — Nuzhat Jerin and Shamria Latif

The University of Lethbridge extends its sincere condolences to the families, friends, fellow students and instructors of Nuzhat Jerin, 26, and Shamria Latif, 24, who passed away on Monday, July 23 following a vehicle collision.

Originally from Bangladesh, both were graduate students in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Latif had been studying computer science since 2015 and Jerin had been studying biology since 2016.

We know many members of our community are grieving the loss of these students. Anyone who needs assistance in dealing with these losses can contact Counselling Services (http://www.uleth.ca/counselling/) at 403-317-2845 or through the University of Lethbridge Employee and Family Assistance Program at 1-800-663-1142.

The Baitul Mukarram Islamic Centre Calgary has scheduled funeral prayers for Jerin and Latif on Thursday, July 26 at 6:15 p.m. at Calgary's Akram Jomaa Mosque located at 2624 37 Ave. NE. The service is open and everyone is welcome.

The University of Lethbridge will lower its flag on Friday, July 27 and Monday, July 30 in honour of Jerin and Latif.
