The University of Lethbridge extends its sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ted Malinsky, who passed away on Sunday, April 29 at the age of 65.

Ted was a valued U of L employee who worked in Caretaking from 1988 until his recent retirement on Feb. 28, 2018. He repaired the department’s equipment, everything from rider scrubbers and sweepers to vacuum cleaners. He also worked part-time in Building Maintenance until 2013, repairing doors and changing locks on campus.

“Ted was a very important part of the Caretaking team and we send our heartfelt condolences to his family,” says Judy Jaeger, Caretaking manager. “He enjoyed his yearly hunting trips, camping and spending time with his wife, Val, who’s also a U of L Caretaking employee, and their grandchildren.”

A celebration of life has been scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4 at Martin Brothers Funeral Chapel located at 610 4 St. S. In honour of Ted, the U of L will lower its flag that day.
