Celebrate Records and Information Management (RIM) Month!

RIM Month Weekly Challenge #2

This week, the Records Management department wants to know which records and information are most important to staff and faculty.

To enter the second RIM Month weekly challenge, simply submit a list of the top 10 most important information assets in your job or department. Are there any forms or files that you use regularly? What information would you not be able to work without? Are you responsible for records that the University is required by law to maintain?

Submit your list now!

Each submission will be entered into this week's prize draw, as well as the grand prize draw that will be held at the end of the month. Prize details are available on the Records Management website.

Records and Information Management Services

The Records Management office is responsible for identifying, classifying, and determining retention requiremients for University Records. The information received from this week's challenge will help keep the University of Lethbridge Classification System current.

Records Management is also responsible for the University Records Centre, which can securely store more than 3300 boxes of records. Freeing up space in your office isn’t the only reason to transfer records to the Records Centre; Records Management takes care of the disposition process once the records have met their approved retention period.

Records Management also offers consultations to help staff and departments efficiently manage the University’s information assets. If you aren’t sure what you need to keep or how long you need to keep it, or if people are having trouble finding information when they need it, or you inherited a disorganized shared drive, contact Records Management and let us know what we can do to help!
