The University of Lethbridge Board of Governors recently approved the appointment of Dr. Nancy Grigg (BEd ’78) as associate dean (undergraduate) for the Faculty of Education.
Grigg earned her Bachelor of Education from the U of L before completing a Master of Education at the University of Alberta and a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Virginia. She returned to the University as an assistant professor in 1986 and has worked within the Faculty of Education ever since.
An advocate for children with learning disabilities, much of her research work has been devoted to enhancing inclusivity and furthering the development of effective teaching methods for students with learning and developmental disorders.
She currently is affiliated with a number of professional organizations that deal specifically with these issues, including the Association for Persons with Severe Handicap, Council for Exceptional Children and the ATA Council for Inclusive Education.
Grigg had been working as acting associate dean since January 2017 and her appointment is for 3.5 years, commencing Jan. 1, 2018.
