In 2015, five days prior to the release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) final report, Premier Rachel Notley apologized for Alberta’s role in the residential school system and called for a “fundamental shift” in the Alberta-Indigenous relationship. Unfortunately, Alberta continues to make limited progress towards reconciliation.
The presentation will explore why challenges remain while offering recommendations for change that could be the first steps towards ‘recovering the relationship.’
