Game Development Showcase Event

Tuesday, December 12th, 6:30-8:30 PM
Lecture Theatre PE 261, University of Lethbridge
(across from the Climbing Wall, First Choice Centre)

For the third year in a row, Senior New Media students from the NMED 3710n (Creative Foundations for Game Development) will be showcasing their digital game projects in a public forum. The focus of the evening’s presentations will be two major team-based projects developed around the C.S Lewis classic series, The Chronicles of Narnia, and J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.  Developed in the Unreal Game Engine, each project is a game-level exploration of an iconic scene in the book/movie: The Great Hall (Harry Potter) and the Wardrobe/Lamp Post (Lion, With and the Wardrobe”.

Five other game engine-based projects will be shown: two “tower-climbers”; two side-scrolling games built around $20 worth of Dollar Store Halloween discount junk, and one two-person independent study fantasy-based game.

Snack and refreshments will be served and the student-creators will be in attendance. Hosted by Professor James Graham, Department of New Media

PE 261 has limited seating (120). All are welcome.
