Renoir's anti-war masterpiece. A French captain in World War I and his mechanic are shot down and captured. What follows is an examination of class differences, friendship, love between enemies, and a series of mostly failed escape plans.
The Grand Illusion is French with English Subtitles, and is free and open to all.
The theme for the Modern Languages Film Series for Spring 2017 is: Escape. All films are shown in D 634 at 4:30 PM on their assigned dates. All films will have 2 showings.
