Humans v Zombies: A Revival of the Infectious game invades the U of L campus
Humans v Zombies is a five day event hosted by the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union that offers an enjoyable and entertaining experience to students at the University. Humans v Zombies was a phenomenon amongst students up until 2012. Humans v Zombies has been revived and will take the U of L campus by storm.
Every event begins with all players as Humans with the exception of the dreaded ‘Patient Zero,’ the first Zombie. Every Patient Zero is provided a fictional backstory that reveals their infectious beginning. This year, Patient Zero is the result of a chemical accident gone wrong.
The game begins with Patient Zero having escaped the confines of the Students’ Union building. It is up to the ‘Human’ participants to complete various on-campus missions to contain the outbreak; all the while, trying not to be infected by the spreading Zombie ‘outbreak.’ As the game progresses, Humans who are tagged by Zombies become ‘infected,’ thereby becoming Zombies themselves.
The event is designed to provide students with an exciting on-campus game to help alleviate some of the mid-semester academic and social pressures and provide students an avenue to strengthen social bonds outside of the classroom setting.
Humans v Zombies runs from 5pm on October 24 until October 28 at 3:00pm at the University of Lethbridge.
The mission of the Students’ Union, the University of Lethbridge is to complement the academic programs of the University and enhance the overall educational experience and quality of campus life for our membership.
