The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute is a longstanding partner of the University of Lethbridge. It offers research funding for scholars and students through a variety of grants and awards.

Sept. 15 Faculty Training and Internationalization
Up to $5,000 is available for travel to other Shastri network institutions upon invitation to work on receiving/delivering capacity building training on areas, such as: teaching-learning pedagogy, course or curriculum development or any other areas identified by the host institutions, for 4-6 weeks.
Sept. 15 Shastri Research Grant
Up to $6,000 to support bi-national research initiatives in almost any discipline.
Sept. 15 Shastri Scholar Travel Subsidy Grant
Up to $1,000 toward international airfare to participate in conferences, workshops, seminars and academic meetings in India or Canada with a view to establishing institutional and scholarly linkages.
Sept. 15 Shastri Partnership Seed Grant in Aid
Up to $2,000 on a matching basis. The purpose of SPSG in Aid program is to support furthering bilateral exchanges, institutional linkages, as well as areas traditionally supported by SICI, including research and other academic collaborations between Canadian and Indian Institutions. SPSG in Aid funds may be used to support bi-national seminars, conferences, workshops, meetings, scholarly discussions, planning meetings, student visits, faculty visits, delegation visits between India-Canada, etc., that initiate or further institutional linkages, academic mobility and trade relations between India and Canada.
