An asbestos removal project will take place June 27 to 28, 2016 in the University Hall D2 area. A containment area will be set up for this project and it will not affect any public corridors or spaces.
This is a normal procedure for any renovation project executed involving asbestos abatement. Removal will be completed consistent with the requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Code, and performed by trained and certified workers pursuant to the required code of practice to ensure that there is no health risk to public or construction workers. Air monitoring will be completed by an independent environmental technologist and the reports will be posted on the Risk and Safety Services website.
