The University of Lethbridge extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Carole Gemer, who passed away at the Foothills Health Centre on Thursday, June 2 at the age of 71.
Gemer, a track and field athlete who was a national silver medallist, became a team manager for both the U of L and national track and field teams. Under her guidance, many teams went to the Pan-American Games, the Commonwealth Games, the World Student Games and the world championships. Gemer was inducted into the Pronghorn Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.
An obituary can be found at Cornerstone Funeral Home. At her request, no funeral service is planned. The U of L will lower its flag on Wednesday in her honour.
