The Campus Women’s Centre at the University of Lethbridge is looking for a Co-Coordinator for the remainder of the 2016 – 2017 year and the 2017 – 2018 year. The Campus Women’s Centre is a student-funded organization dedicated to promoting equality and advocating for positive change by empowering and celebrating women. The CWC is open to all students and provides a safe environment for all members of the university community.
The Co-Coordinator position is open to those looking to enhance their experience with non-profit organizations, social justice, and community development. Co-Coordinators will be hired for a two-year term and will be responsible for training a new Co-Coordinator in the second year of their contract.
Co-Coordinators are required to work ten hours a week and are responsible for:
- Administrative duties including budget and funding work
- Facilitating discussion and meetings
- Gathering inquiries and addressing concerns
- Maintaining relationships with volunteers and other groups both on- and off-campus
- Building networks and connections within the local and global community
- Training volunteers for “Casual Peer Counseling” and event participation
- Assisting the development of student ideas and projects including promotional work
- Delegating tasks
- Acquiring supplies for the Centre and events
Applicants should possess:
- A working knowledge of social media and e-mail
- Strong character and a positive attitude
- Proficient listening skills
- Leadership abilities
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A concern for social justice and an awareness of issues particularly affecting women
- Some scheduling flexibility as attending occasional evening and weekend community events is a must
- Conflict resolution skills
- Organizational skills
- Prior non-profit/activist work and/or administrative experience will be considered an asset
Wage and benefits:
- $500 a month salary
