The University of Lethbridge extends its heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of the late Virginia (Gina) Cattoni, who passed away on Friday, Oct. 30 at age 91.
Cattoni was a longtime U of L employee who started her employment in Facilities in 1972. When she was hired, her job title was janitress and in subsequent years she became a building services worker and then caretaker in 1981. Cattoni worked in the Caretaking department until her retirement on Jan. 31 in 1986. A full obituary is available on the Martin Brothers website.
Vigil rites will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Martin Brothers, located at 610-4 St. S. A funeral mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Basil’s Catholic Church, located at 604-13 St. N. The U of L flag will be lowered on Friday, Nov. 6 and remain lowered until Monday, Nov. 9 in honour of Cattoni.
