The University of Lethbridge extends its support to staff, students and faculty at Red Crow Community College after an early-morning fire destroyed the historic building.

“Our thoughts are with the Red Crow college community and the Blood Reserve as they deal with the loss of this important building,” says Andy Hakin, U of L vice-president (academic). “We offer our assistance in helping Red Crow college ensure students’ education is disrupted as little as possible.”

The U of L has had a long-standing relationship with Red Crow Community College that was further strengthened last year with the signing of a memorandum of understanding to increase future collaboration between the two institutions.

“We have a long affiliation with the college through President Roy Weasel Fat and many of the faculty and staff members there are strongly linked to the U of L. We will be reaching out to them in the days, weeks, and months ahead,” says Hakin.
