This October, Albertans will vote in a referendum on the issues of Alberta separation from Canada, immigration, and the Canadian constitution. The referendum results are almost entirely non-binding but will determine a path for our provincial government and will impact all of Canada.
Join us for a series of panels presented by U of L Faculty. Together, we will explore the context of the referendum and unpack the issues of Alberta separation and treaty, the constitution, and immigration. See the attached general schedule for panel times and topics; a more detailed schedule will be released closer to the day of the teach-in.
Faculty, if you intend to bring your classes, please contact Shannon McAlorum so we can plan to accommodate the necessary capacity.
We are grateful to Campus Security for helping us to keep this event safe for all, and to the University Library, ULFA, and the ULSU for their support.
Light refreshments will be available.
