Elders in Residence Niinaisipistoo (Owl Chief) Dr. Francis First Charger and Staah’tsi’naims’skaa’ki (Thunder Pipe Woman Under the Sky) Cathy Hunt are providing face painting along with support and guidance by Elder Shirlee Crow Shoe.
In Blackfoot culture, face painting carries profound meaning. It is a sacred practice used for protection, spiritual connection and to honour important achievements and ceremonies.
