On Wednesday, Nov. 5, join Iikaisskini Indigenous Services along with Ayaahkimina (encouraging you to try hard) Indigenous Wellness Initiative for a special Wellness Wednesday ahead of National Indigenous Veterans Day (Nov. 8).
We welcome special guests Indigenous veterans Naatoiipiksi (Holy Hitter) Kendrick Fox and Niiookskasokaatsiim (Three Holy Roots) Tricia Willows for a presentation and Q&A.
Kendrick is a ULethbridge student in the Faculty of Arts and Science taking Indigenous Studies. He hopes to pursue a Bachelor of Education next semester. Tricia Willows is currently attending the University of Calgary through the Off Campus at University of Lethbridge for her Bachelors of Social Work. She currently works at the Lethbridge Shelter as a wellness monitor while she works to complete her degree.

Niiookskasokaatsiim (Three Holy Roots) Tricia Willows
Tricia Willows is currently attending the University of Calgary through the Off Campus at University of Lethbridge for her Bachelors of Social Work. She currently works at the Lethbridge Shelter as a wellness monitor while she works to complete her degree.
She joined the United States Army eight months after graduating high school in 2001. She completed her basic training in Fort Jackson South Carolina in May of 2001 and continued her training in Fort Sam Houston Texas as a combat medic in September 2001. She received her first duty station to Camp Casey South Korea for 11 months and returned state-side September 2002 for six months in Fort Polk Louisiana. She was then deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait in March 2003 for three months and completed her four-year contract in Fort Polk Louisiana with the HHC 115th Field Hospital.
Naatoiipiksi (Holy Hitter) Kendrick Fox
Kendrick Fox is a ULethbridge student in the Faculty of Arts and Science taking Indigenous Studies. He hopes to pursue a Bachelor of Education next semester.
He signed up for the Canadian Armed Forces in July 2000 and joined the Army Reserve - Indigenous Bold Eagle Training course, where he did his Army Reserve Basic Training with Indigenous youth from across Canada. He joined the regular forces immediately afterward and became a full-time soldier and was posted to his home unit the 2nd Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
