The University of Lethbridge extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Myles Bourke, who passed away on Wednesday, July 3 at age 82.
Bourke, born and raised in Ontario, became a chartered accountant after graduating from the University of Toronto. He moved his family west to Lethbridge in 1973 where he worked for KPMG. Bourke was a government appointee to the ULethbridge Senate from July 2001 to May 2004 and served on the Board of Governors from 2002 to 2010.
In addition to his many professional commitments, Bourke was involved in many community organizations, including the Rotary Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Lethbridge Exhibition, the Chamber of Commerce and the Chinook Country Tourist Association, to name a few. A funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martha’s Catholic Church located at 355 Columbia Boulevard. In honour of Bourke, ULethbridge will lower its flags on Tuesday.
