UHE6 washrooms asbestos removal

This notice is from the archives of The Notice Board. Information contained in this notice was accurate at the time of publication but may no longer be so.

Please be advised between May 23 to May 26, 2023, contractors will be performing asbestos removal in the UHE6 washrooms. A containment area will be set up at each location. There will be no admittance into any of these washrooms during this time. All corridors will remain open while this is happening. This work is being completed to accommodate renovations for the new Testing Centre.

This is a normal procedure for any renovation project executed involving asbestos abatement. Removal will be completed consistent with the requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Code, and performed by trained and certified workers pursuant to the required code of practice to ensure that there is no health risk to students, staff, faculty, the general public or construction workers. Air monitoring will be completed by an independent environmental technologist and the reports will be posted on the Risk and Safety Services website.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation during this time. Contact Greg Lacey or Brian Hlushko for any further questions or to address any specific needs or concerns.

Thank you!
