Human Papillomavirus (HPV), the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI), is spread by intimate skin-to-skin contact with someone who has the virus. Some types of HPV can cause health problems like genital warts and cancers. Vaccines can stop these health problems from happening.
Third-year ULethbridge bachelor of nursing students taking Community and Population Health are bringing the HPV van to campus and offering a free HPV vaccination clinic to anyone aged 18 to 26. Other age demographics are welcome, but the vaccine won’t be free. Walk-ins are welcome. The clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, March 23 and 24.
After checking in at the 1st Choice Savings Centre, participants will be escorted to the HPV van for their vaccination.
